What is Computer Science And Engineering?

Computer Science Engineers design and implement computer hardware and software systems to solve a variety of problems in such diverse areas as communications, manufacturing, robotics, computer graphics, databases, and many others. A computer engineer might be involved in fundamental research, hardware design and fabrication, software creation, or systems integration.

About Department

The department of Computer Science and Engineering came into existence from the very inception of the college in the year 2008. Initially, the annual intake was 60. In tune with the growing demand profile globally for CSE, the intake level was enhanced to 120 in the year 2010 and onwards. As per university norms, semester system is being followed.

Right from its inception in the year 2008, the Department has steadily grown in all spheres in terms of:

  1. Student strength, physical Infrastructure, number of labs - subject wise, as per the rapid upgradations introduced by AICTE in the recent times and progressive changes in syllabi of JNTU Kakinada.
  2. Central and Department Library, number of systems in labs, requisite software, organization and establishment of in-house maintenance wing and its training.
  3. Brilliant faculty strengthened through qualification improvement programs, human resources in the form of trained supporting staff, all round quality development programs and operating systems for improving upon the functional effectiveness in the department.

The Department of Computer Science and Engineering with its cohesive team of faculty members, offers a sound program at the UG level. The curriculum is a blend of the conventional and theradical. It is updated regularly to keep up with the growing demands and the changing trends of the software industry and research laboratories. Core courses include Programming Languages, Computer Architecture,System Software, Networking Technologies and Artificial Intelligence.

State-of-the-Art computing facilities are provided by the Computer Center, our Computer Centre in the newly established Centre. They epitomize the cutting edge technology available in our college.

To impart quality technical education to the students by providing state of the art laboratories, innovative technologies by qualified and experienced faculty and research facilities and to develop necessary skills required for employability through career development training.

  1. To start a course in M.Tech. Computer Science and Engineering and take up consultancy work.
  2. To make critical and specific contributions and realize the objectives of the department and in turn of the Institution, as an Institution of eminence and repute at the University level.

PEO1: Preparation: To empower learners of computer Science and Engineering to apply the knowledge of mathematics, Applied Science, Computing ,Basic Engineering field to identify, analyze, formulate, design, simulate and develop the practical eco-friendly solutions for hardware and software problems in industry and academics.
  2. PEO2: Core competence: To enable the learners to develop the innovative skills in Programming design, simulation, development & testing of software components for offering solutions to real life problems.
  3. PEO3:Breadth Knowledge: To provide the computer science and engineering knowledge in designing theory and conducting experiments of EDC, DLD, MPMC, etc... to analyze, interpret the significance of the experimental data, application, installation, manufacturing for effective operation & maintenance.
  4. PEO4:Professional development: To practice using a system approach to handle multi-faceted and multidisciplinary projects & accomplish professional development with ethical values in the emerging areas of computer science with high increasing responsibility and leadership with effective communication skills and also for continual receptiveness to new technological and cultural challenges through life-long learning process.
  5. PEO5:Career Development: To enhance the R & D skills by MOUís with premier organizations, Industry Institute Interaction of the students in the latest trends of CSE like Android, Big Data, IRS, etc. and motivate them to continue their professional growth in leading industries and for employability, training, higher education imbibing holistic approach.
