What is Electronics And Communication Engineering?

Electronics and communication engineering is a hybrid of electrical, electronics and communication engineering.

About Department

In order to meet the wide ranging, challenging and very rapidly growing Global Demands for "Professional Electronics and Communication Engineers" in this Hi-Tech Era, the Department of "Electronics and Communication Engineering" was established since inception of the college in the year 2008 with an annual intake of 60 students.

The initial Intake was 60; Considering the very steep increase in Global Demands and on the basis of Academic Strength of our Department, the Annual Intake had been enhanced to 120 and is steady, since the year 2009.

The Objective of the Institution is to impart "Quality Engineering Education" and promote the growth of effective, efficient and true Professionals, through adherence of the highest Standards of Academic Integrity and overall Ethical conduct, to develop a sense of Individual Responsibility and also to collectively Participate in reinforcing and maintaining an Environment of Honor, Trust and Standards.

The First year Core Curriculum begins with a common knowledge base and customizes Students by grounding in basic Engineering Foundation and in Critical Hands-on Skills in Engineering Practices. The Course has access to enhance the Learning, Student Perspective and Experience to develop Specialization in areas of 'Electronics and Communication Engineering'. Class room learning is complemented by practicals in Hi-Tech Labs, Projects and Hands on Experiences, so as to foster Knowledge in 'Engineering and Technology'.

The Department strives to develop long Term relationships with Industries and market the Student's Talents effectively. The Students are thus provided high level 'Leads and Pathways' that enable them to gain access to a broad range of 'high potential' and 'hi-tech' Career Opportunities.

The Curriculum adopted is of 'Semester System' and is spread over a period of four years; the Programme is affiliated to JNTU Kakinada.

Vision

To be a centre of excellence and to impart quality technical education to create globally competent professionals in the field of electronics and communications engineering, meeting the standards of global industry and to develop them into skillful engineers who are technologically superior and ethically strong with knowledge of core as well as inter disciplinary domains focusing on socio-economic needs.

  1. To infuse the sense of excitement in students and to empower them with latest trends in electronics and communication engineering to meet the growing real world challenges.
  2. To impart quality education with experienced and qualified teaching faculty.
  3. To carry out research through constant interaction with R & D organizations and industry.
  4. To motivate the students to develop multidisciplinary technologies for a sustainable growth.
  5. To inculcate professional ethics and morals in preparing responsible citizens.

OUR FUTURE PLANS

  1. To start a course in M.Tech. Electronics and Communication Engineering and take up consultancy work.
  2. To make critical and specific contributions and realize the objectives of the department and in turn of the Institution, as an Institution of eminence and repute at the University level.

PROGRAMME EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES (PEOs)

  1. PEO1:To acquire knowledge of mathematics and science concepts as tools to device and deliver efficient solutions to problems of Electronics & Communication Engineering.
  2. PEO2:To impart technical knowledge using modern tools, new technologies and MoUís with industries in order to design and develop products for societal needs.
  3. PEO3:To develop leadership qualities and ability to work effectively in teams in diverse professions of varied technical and non technical services.
  4. PEO4:To instill team work, leadership and communication skills in the student with professional, ethical and human values to be responsible citizen of the society.

PROGRAMME OOUTCOMES (POs)

  1. Graduates will be able to apply the principles of basic sciences, mathematics, and engineering fundamentals in finding solutions to complex problems.
  2. Graduates will acquire critical thinking skills, problem solving abilities, and familiarity with the computational procedures essential to the field.
  3. The graduates will be able to plan, analyze and design various types of systems required for technical advancements and societal needs.
  4. The Graduates gain hands on experience in using latest software and hardware tools for obtaining solutions to engineering problems.
  5. The graduates will possess adequate knowledge required for sustainable development keeping in view environmental effects and real life problems.
  6. The Graduates will be able to use research based knowledge to conduct experiments and interpret experimental data.
  7. The Graduates will be able to apply knowledge gained to tackle societal, health, safety, legal and cultural issues.
  8. The Graduates will acquire the capability of working productively as individuals, as members or leaders in teams in any environment.
  9. To enroll in professional bodies as member.
  10. To make them apply their acquired knowledge in solving problems in economics and environmental and social contexts by project.
