What is Electrical And Electronic Engineering?

Electrical and Electronics Engineers deal with the design, production and operation of systems and devices that use electric and electromagnetic energy for sensing, processing, visualization and use of information. Electrical Engineering has grown from its roots in power systems to branches in communications systems, automatic controls, computer hardware, signal processing, semiconductor physics, electronic circuit synthesis, optics, consumer electronics, wireless communications, digital video, integration of computers communications and sensors, robotics and intelligent control.

About Department

The Department of "Electrical and Electronics Engineering (EEE)" was established in the College, since its inception, in the year 2008 with an annual intake of 60 students. The commencement and organization of this 'Branch of Study' stem out of following considerations:

  1. 'EEE' is a Basic Branch of 'Engineering Study' that creates interest and provides right 'perception' and 'insight' into 'Fundamentals'
  2. 'EEE' Branch opens up excellent scope for 'New Avenues' for adaptation and thus enables pursuit of hi-tech Specialization.
  3. NRIIT, as an Engineering Educator and leading Partner in Academics promotes the development and growth of effective, efficient and true EEE Professionals, through adherence of the highest Standards of Academic Integrity and overall Ethical conduct, to inculcate a sense of Individual Responsibility and also to collectively participate in reinforcing and maintaining an Environment of Honor, Trust and Standards. It has the primary obligation and responsibility to realize and meet the compelling necessity and urgency for wide ranging, challenging and fast growing Global Demands for EEE Professionals.

NRIIT, is proud of this Initiative in 2008 - to start this Course of study, along with a few other Branches of Study and as of Today, has emerged as an Institution, imparting Quality Engineering Education and making contributions to hi-tech Industries, by producing EEE Graduates, with Professional Abilities and right Attitude.

While the First year Core Curriculum begins with a common knowledge Base and customizes Students by grounding in basic Engineering Foundation and in Critical Hands on Skills in Engineering Practices, the Course has access to enhance the Learning, Student Perspective and Experience to develop Specialization in areas of 'Electrical and Electronics Engineering'. Class room learning is complemented by Practice in Hi-Tech Labs, Projects and Hands on Experiences, so as to foster Knowledge in 'Engineering and Technology'.

The Department strives to develop long term relationships with Industries and market the Student's Talents effectively. The Students are thus provided high level 'Leads and Pathways' that enable them to gain access to a broad range of 'high potential' and 'hi-tech' Career Opportunities.

The Curriculum adopted is of 'Semester System' and is spread over a period of four years; the Programme is affiliated to JNTU Kakinada.

To mould young and fresh minds into well-disciplined and competent engineers to excel in the field of Electrical & Electronics engineering to meet the industrial /societal needs and compete at global level.

Mission

  1. To Impart Quality education in dynamic learning environment and strive continuously for the stake holders, industry and society
  2. To impart students with knowledge, technical skills and values to excel as engineers and leaders in their profession

OUR FUTURE PLANS

  1. To start a course in M.Tech. Electrical and Electronics Engineering and take up consultancy work.
  2. To make critical and specific contributions and realize the objectives of the department and in turn of the Institution, as an Institution of eminence and repute at the University level.

PROGRAMME EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES (PEOs)

  1. PEO1:Fulfill the needs of society in solving technical problems using engineering principles, tools and practices, in an ethical and responsible manner.
  2. PEO2:Use their creative and critical reasoning skills to solve technical problems, ethically and responsibly, in service to society.
  3. PEO3:Use their mathematical and scientific knowledge to solve emerging real-world problems related to power, electronics, control systems and teamwork skills for the execution of complex technological solutions.
  4. PEO4:Use their communication skills in bridging the divide between advanced technology and end users in the practice of electrical engineering.

  2. PO2: An ability to design and conduct experiments, as well as to analyze and interpret data.

  6. PO6: An ability to communicate effectively.
  7. PO7: The broad education necessary to understand the impact of engineering solutions in a global, economic, environmental, and societal context.
  8. PO8: A recognition of the need for, and an ability to engage in life-long learning.
  9. PO9: An ability to use the techniques, skills, and modern engineering tools necessary for engineering practice.
  10. PO10: Graduate who can participate and succeed in competitive examinations like GATE, GRE, GMAT, TOFEL, IELTS, CAT, PSU's, IES etc
